Sabdes an exclusive yacht design studio company which makes designs for super yachts has launched a one of kind "Eco Friendly" Super Yacht.
Coming out fresh from the Australian based companies drawing board is the latest Eco-Friendly ‘50’metere / ‘164’ feet yacht. With this yacht Sabde is planning to go against the normal trend of “Bigger yachts = Higher wastage” by developing a yacht which promises not only to reduce in costs but is also environment friendly.
About the boat
The external styling is described as contemporary, clean and slightly aggressive with sharp edges and sweeping lines intersecting glass windows in the superstructure. A ‘classic’ yacht character is achieved by side glass protection strakes covered with wood veneer, and in the use of wood panels in the sides nearing the transom.
So what makes it “Eco – Friendly”?
Scott Blee, an Australian Superyacht Stylist, was in charge of the design. He choose to use a slender hull with a reverse bow. The combination will offer better handling on larger waves while giving the Superyacht a top speed of 25 knots. It will also cut the water better and reduce drag. The hull was also made to cause as little impact on marine-life and the marine economy as possible.
Power will be from a new hybrid diesel-electric system. The system incorporates a shaft motor/generator which will capture excess energy and store it in the battery banks. The stored energy can then be used while coming in and out of a harbor to move silently and cause only a small wake.
Infact they have taken even small details like lighting under consideration and are providing LED lighting which is more efficient then ordinary lights.
Sabdes is also into conceptualizing design, exterior styling, interior layout design, and 3D modelling.
