Whether they are being used as an intersting prop in bollywood songs, or as the next best thing for recreation, sailing & luxury yachts are everywhere.. in bollywood that is! Tashan & Bachna Ae Haseeno had them, now we got to watch out for them in Blue...
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is having a whale of a time in Bangkok! He has hired a 40-foot-long luxury catamaran for his close friends while he shoots for the thriller Blue.



Sanjay, who is known for his generous ways, invited his closest friends to join him and wife Maanyata in Bangkok to party and relax while the underwater adventure Blue was being shot in the middle of the ocean.

"It's non-stop deep sea diving, music, snorkelling and barbeque in the middle of the bluest ocean god ever invented. This is the most thrilling holiday I've ever had," he added.

The glimpses of the yachting lifestyle also feature in the movie Bachna Ae Haseeno where Bipasha glams out in a villa next to a Marina! She is also seen on one of these luxury crafts along with Ranbir.

Bollywood Chahta Hai Goa- India’s Mini Europe !

Whether it’s water-sports, leisure sailing or luxury cruising- Goa emerges as the best loved destination amongst Bollywood’s celebrities at any given time of the year.

From Esha Deol and Arshad Warsi to Imtiaz Ali and Malaika Arora Khan - they all prefer to hit the golden beaches to unwind.

Esha Deol: Since I'm a total beach bum, Goa is one of the best spots India has to offer me. Lately, however, it's become too commercialized and not so safe. But I'll always have fond memories of my Goan holidays.

Chitrangda Singh: Goa is the Indian Europe. It has great energy

Raima Sen: I go at least four times a year. I love the seafood, beaches and shacks. I love the chilled-out life there and the friendly vibes of the place. I can comfortably let my hair down.

Imtiaz Ali: Goa is big in my life. I go there very often, but still not as often as I'd like. I'd like to live the life of a hippy or a nomad on one of the beaches there. I'd like to just travel around the beaches and villages. Life is not possible for me without Goa. It takes the traffic and the noise out of my blood system.

Rohit Roy: Goa has been my favorite Indian holiday destination from the time I was in college. Earlier I'd go with a bunch of friends. But now it's become a hotspot for family holidays. My wife Manasi and daughter Kiara are as much beach persons as I am! I absolutely adore its chilled-out pace. I love Goan food, prawn curry and rice being my favorites. Yachts And Movies: Trouble Happens On A Journey Of Love!

Sometimes the greatest journey is the distance between two people

It’s happening. Yachts have appeared in the biggest blockbusters of Hollywood. Now, it is Bollywood’s turn to do the same. There’s no other backdrop that enhances the beauty and mystery of love better than a cruise on a clear blue sea. Feel the power of romance and the depths of a bond when Mr. Devgan meets his ladylove Kajol aboard an international cruiseliner in their next flick 'U Me Aur Hum'!
Unfortunately, the flowery flick came under the scanner because of a scene where ‘digital pigeons’ were used…


It’s a ground rule of sorts. When filmmakers feature animals or birds, permissions have to obtained from the Animal Welfare Board of India. But now even digital images of birds have come under the scanner. The film features pigeons in scenes shot aboard a cruise line—but these are not live pigeons, they have been created by digital animation. The pigeons are so perfectly created that they don’t look digitally generated. The authorities felt that real birds were used and asked if permissions had been obtained. Devgan patiently explained the use of digital graphics in the movie. After the okay from Delhi, Devgan has had the film censored.

So, thats the latest 'gupshup' on the movie U, Me Aur Hum but getting back to boating... Through the years Bollywood has been famous for featuring speedboats in their songs and dance sequences. They add to the 'mirch-masala' and heighten the romanticism portrayed in most indian films. Considering the fact that a large part of U, Me Aur Hum is shot aboard a cruiseliner, boating and bollywood are on their way to forming a credible bond! Hope we get to see a lot more fascinating yachts in the indian movies soon!

This movie is inspired by The Notebook, one of the most romantic dramas of recent times starring Ryan Gosling and Rachael Mc Adams.!

Yachts And Movies : Fool's Gold

February saw the release of the movie 'Fools Gold' starring Kate Hudson and Matthew McCoghauney. But another superstar caught everybody's attention. She was 'Keri Lee', the super yacht which had her name changed to Precious Gem for the purpose of the film. The 138'ft Keri Lee is designed by Jack Sarin and built by Sovereign Yachts of NewZealand. She is powered by twin Detroit 16V 2000 engines. Her cruising range is 3000 miles when holding 8000 gallons of diesel. Her long range cruise speed is 18 knots but she can touch a maximum speed of 24 knots with her semi-displacement hull.
One of the most notable features is her fantastic use of interior space. With one king sized cabin, three queen sized cabins and a twin cabin with four single beds, Keri Lee can comfortably house 10 people. Her charter rates are US$ 70,000 per week for up to 12 guests.
Hollywood seems to be having quite a love affair with yachts starring in so many movies! Wonder if it will rub off on Bollywood too...

Speed-Boating Bollywood Style - Saif whizzes Kareena and Karisma

Bollywood and Cricket - the two pillars and the two favourite past-times of India. Depending on how the batsmen scores or how a superstar dances to a famous musical score - the Indian junta swing and play too.

Some of our Bollywood superstars are quickly going the boat way and enjoying the thrills and the spills once fixated to cars and bikes only.


Saif Ali Khan, the 'Chhote Nawab' of filmdom has just joined the gang of superstars who love boats and the water. He has hired a speedboat from Mumbai's H2O (promoted by another Indian superstar Suniel Shetty) to get him in 20 minutes flat (WOW!) to Alibaug for shootings for his upcoming film.

Trust Saif to do everything in style !

Apparently Saif has been all praise for the speedboat. Aptly called the Miss Goa 2007, the boat is small and yellow in color and can sit only four.


BUT the top-speeds it reaches (imagine reaching Alibaug in 20 minutes), just keep Saif raring to go for more every time he gets on.

BEAU ON BOARD

He kept talking about it to his lady-love Kareena Kapoor and she was so impressed by his account of the boatride that she demanded a ride too.

So she came along with her sister Karisma and they all went to Alibaug, a couple of days ago. Kareena then stayed back on the sets for the day and came back in the evening by the same boat with him. In fact Rani Mukherji has also come in the boat once with Saif.



So, it seems that Saif's been rubbing his love off for the boat on to others. The boat has become a favourite of Saif and he enjoys the ride very much. In fact the boat is Saif's favourite since it not only saves his time but also make him feel fresh too.

Considering that a filmstar is getting passionate about boats, we guarantee that soon the acceptance and aspirations of Indians for one will sky-rocket too, as has always been the case!

Also, we are sure to see a lot of other superstars ascending down from their orbit into the galaxy of boats - the Mumbai International Boat Show 2008, in a few days time.
