Dubai, the world’s favorite shopping paradise and lifestyle country where money flows like water and there is nothing that you cant get.. Well other than berths. Rising number of yachts in dubai have led to high demad of berts. Currently there are about 2500 berts and the amount to meet the demand it 10,000

Talking about the price Mr. Hassan Al Shaali, Sales and Marketing Manager of Shaali Marina, said: “The shortage has pushed the annual berth rent up in the range of Dh35,000 to Dh40,000. A week or a fortnight costs Dh4,000 to Dh5,000. Most berths now have waiting lists.”

The foreign yachts have found the gulf countries especially dubai as an exciting tourist destination. Officials at Dubai’s tourism department told Emirates Business European yacht owners and vacationers sailing through the Mediterranean into the Red Sea now do not stop only at Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh but venture south, rounding the Arabian Peninsula and entering the Gulf waters.

Property in dubai is also very lucrative at this point considering one can get an Dubai Visa by buying a property.

The many Palms and the world project are also to an extent responsible for this rise as investors would surely see this as a buying opportunity. The management of the Palms has plans to increase the number of berths for yachts, and build 15 new marinas in the next 10 years to accommodate some 51,000 boats of various sizes.

Dubai also holds the record for the most expensive yacht of the world owned by Sheikh Mohammed of Dubai.
